The People That Make This Possible
Kosei Tea Ware is honored and privileged to partner with various masters of their craft to make their work accessible to all.
Each of our partners, along with the hundreds of hours of dedication spent toward perfecting their craft, continues a tradition that spans generations. It is this tradition that makes every one of their works unique; from clay to the kiln, each piece is carefully handled and worked into something special, just as it has been done for hundreds of years.

Ninshu (仁秀)
Kyoto Pottery Kiln
With origins dating back to the 17th century and a close tie to the Ninna-Ji Temple, the craftspeople of the Ninshu Kiln preserve the elegance of traditional Kyo-yaki pottery while keeping contemporary applications in mind.
The rich history of this kiln, paired with the delicate geometry and vibrant color of their works make for a perfect addition to your daily routine. -
Kitagama Kasen (喜多窯 霞仙)
Hiroshige Kato (加藤裕重), 14th Generation Master Potter
Based in the city of Seto in Aichi, Japan, Hiroshige Kato continues his ancestor’s occupation of crafting beautiful Akazu-yaki pottery. Kato-san not only produces pieces with traditional aesthetics, but even continues to source his materials traditionally - like harvesting his clay from the hills behind his workshop - just as it was done hundreds of years ago.
Each of Kato-san’s works is produced by hand, its features varying slightly giving a unique and individual feel. Such is the very essence of what we strive to provide at Kosei Tea Ware- buy-it-for-life pieces with an individual character (個性) that will elevate your tea time like no other.
