Crafted in Kyoto, Japan by the skilled artisans of the Ninshu Kiln, this hand-thrown chawan (matcha bowl) is glazed in black with fine details of silver-grey and a deep royal blue. As the name given by Ninshu states, the dark and rich tones of this bowl evoke a sense of dignity, as one should when using a bowl of this quality.

From the intricate lines left by the potters fingers, to the delicate glaze laden with a beautifuly subtle kan’nyu crackle pattern, each bowl is slightly different from the next. Along with being the perfect shape for making a lovely, frothy matcha, the hand-made nature makes each of these bowls unique.
